TRtN 6 will be taking place, as always, on the last weekend of July.

Registration:- Friday the 25th of early in the morning of Saturday the 26th.
Racing day 1 :- Saturday 26th
Racing day 2 :- Sunday 27th

Shorter course this year as I will be taking part and I want to attract first timer racers to the event. Prize find is yet to be finalised but will focus on the Ladies and youth this year!

The course for day 1 will be a variation of Perfect day 25 km max http://bansko-mtb.com/en/2012/07/perfect-day/

The course for day 2 will be 1 lap of Foxy Lady.

For the more serious riders this means both days are sprints.

Categories this year will be :-

Mens Juniors MJ, This category shall comprise riders aged under 20.

Mens under 23 MU29, This category shall comprise riders aged under 30.

Mens Elite ME, This category shall comprise riders aged under 40.

Mens Masters MM, This category shall comprise riders aged under 50 years.

Mens Veterans MV, This category shall comprise riders of 50 years and above.

Women W. This category shall comprise all female riders.

Mens Team MT This category will comprise 3 or more male riders of any age

Mixed Team MXT This category will comprise 3 or more riders of any age or gender.

Courses are not confirmed yet as local feedback :-) suggests we might have to split the first day into a short course and a long course! Half of Team Bansko want a 45km run on the first day and the other half want a short 25km sprint on the first day. I might just lock them in a room and fight to the death to decide.

45km will be harder to organize. But 25km is just not enough - it is even less than ordinary XCO race.

We may participate as team, but I just do not get why the team should be composed by 3 rider, but not 2 as usual? 3 riders as minimum, means less teams and less competition generally. Please reconsider that.

Concerning the trails they are still not confirmed yet. I have been out a few times this spring looking for variations of our trails. I will confirm the final routes in June.

I would like to keep the Sunday race 25km for most of the riders so that there is time for the slowest riders to finish, time for the prize giving and tombola and time for everyone to get home afterwards. We have been talking about having a 2 distance course for both days. On the sunday this would mean the ME (serious riders) would do 45 km and everyone else would do 25 km .

For the Saturday suggestions are appreciated. I would like to have two distances, 45 km for the ME and more serious riders and then something easier for beginners.

Different distance for different riders is what I was about to propose you. As this is 2 stages race, for the ME category 60km on the first day (full marathon distance, or two loops per 30km each), and than 45km for second day would be just perfect. Hobby/begginer riders can do 30km (one loop) on the first day and 25km on the second.

That is sort of what I am playing with at the moment! Thanks for your thoughts. I will have to speak to the bansko MTB massive as they are very enthusiastic about the event so changes need to be put to the committee! Hopefully they will agree, 2 laps for the "serious" works for me as it means a little less painting!

Бо Дудек може да пише и на шлокавица и на български, значи и Найджъл и компания също могат... дали искат си е тяхен проблем но 90% от участниците в тяхното състезание са Българи и е редно обявата и наредбата да са на български и английски.
Колкото до английския и неговото разпространение, немския, френския, испански и руски са също толкова изполваеми, защо не пише на руски.
Лешпери колкото искаш, шовинисти също но истински хора рядко се срещат!

I am sorry about the fact that I type in English. I can speak many languages, but I have a huge problem in writing in any of them. I suffer from something called Dyslexia, so even writing in English involves a huge amount of spell checking for me. However most of the people who come to Bansko for our rally speak and read near perfect English. I am sorry that I have to impose on their/your talents to compensate for my failings but in 10 years of trying I still can not write in Bulgarian. Forgive me. I would like to remind you that it was only a few years ago that you told me to stop writing in Bulgarian on this forum as my Bulgarian was so bad and that it would be better for me to write in English!

Anyway I hope we can now focus on the biking not on my weaknesses. New info on the Rally has been posted on the site here

Dear Friends,
I feel that now is a good time for a change. I am hugely grateful to our main sponsor Drag Bikes for all their support over the years. Together with Drag we have been talking about a new format for the event. We both agree that we would like to make the event less of a competition and open to more riders A challenge rather than a race.

We will put together the details in the next few weeks and hope to keep you informed as and when we have more information.

The dates will remain the same 26th and 27th of July.

I'm sorry but we will not be able to do insurance this year as we do not have enough "staff/volunteers" .

Other news, Day two will still be on the same route but will start from the car park at the bottom of the Dobrinishtay chair lift at 09:00 and finish just above Bansko. I have ridden the route a couple of times in the last 2 weeks and you will love it. There is some climbing some single track and lots and lots of fast, fun forest track.

Sorry about the delay in replying. It is very difficult this year as I have less volunteers helping and Obshtina Bansko is doing everything they can to stop the event.

Yes you can register at the start if you get there before 08:30.

There will be some transport to the start on day 2 but not many buses are available. I suggest everyone who can drives to the start and then we can arrange buses later in the day to take drivers to the start to collect cars .

This year I will decide categories when I know what prizes we have available but at the moment it looks like we will have 1st,2nd and 3rd in the men's elite category, the same in the ladies category and hopefully one more category. There will also be a large tombola and medals for everyone who finishes both days.

Maybe this is a good time to mention this will be the last year that I am involved in this event as the dirty tricks by the Obshtina and our Mayor Georgi Ikonomov makes it impossible for me to carry on. The Road to Nowhere will carry on! We have a few people who are willing to take on the challenge so please do not give up on riding in and around Bansko!

I think that prices are not that important, a certificate with place and time is enough . Most of the guys participate just for the fun of it.
The only important thing for the Mayor is to build some new lifts, he does not care of some sustainable initiatives that could attract some tourists in Bansko in time, different then shrinking, hot, snowless winter...
