Hello,
Mmmm, give my opinion?
Ok, but only on the signs, because the other things are irrelevant i think...
In the Belgian races , we use 1 system:
*Before the change of direction, 1 sign (distance to the turn depends on the expected speed... In a climb, this will be very close, in a fast downhill, use perhaps 2 to 3 signs, because people will be concentrated to the track and not looking for signs...)
*In the turn, 1 sign
*After the turn , 1 sign (to confirm the right direction)
* If a stretch between 2 turns (crossroads) is too long, also put 'confirmationsigns' from time to time
About the kind of signs: we try to make original signs so no confusion with other signs of different organisations is possible. Mostly, we make plastic or wooden signs with the logo of the club or big sponsor (and small letters that these signs are for race and will be removed the day after...) These signs are collected again after the race and can be used every year again (till new sponsor
)
It's a small investment, but you can have support from one of the sponsors... Last time, i bought thin wooden plates and cut it into 20cm*10cm signs and painted them in fluo orange with black logo of sonsor with spray... Took 1 day, but used them 3 years...
Voila, this is only my idea and nothing is perfect... If signs are taken away, you will allways have a problem...In belgium, we send enduro moto with gps to lead the first man and solve these problems...
(I would not have a problem taking my gps and some extra signs from organisation, so, in case of a problem, i can be ' the last checkman' and solve it before becoming a real problem... This off course only works if i,m in the leading position
, and i can not promise this forever
)
This was my humble opinion on a very difficult matter, because this is a problem even the biggest international races cope with....
Again, i thank the orga-team for the great weekend and hope to see you all next year or on the next event....
