Niki Gudex:
" For those of you that saw the 45 ft fall to flat then you know how bad it looked.
Somehow Jake got back up and walked out.
Being old friends (about fourteen years now), I was asked to interview him for Fuel TV so I kept it short and sweet since he was on his way to yet another TV appearance...
Anyway if you want to know how he came up afterwards then check out the words here.
and if you haven't seen the footage I suggest googling it on YouTube, pretty insane..."

"Something like Pro mountain biker Niki Gudex is old friends with Jake Brown, so we had her give him a call to find out what happened at the X Games. Find out more about Niki Gudex at www.nikigudex.com
Niki: So, congratulations on landing the 720, very cool. Finishing 2nd place is awesome too. You have been skating vert for such a long time now, it is great to see you still so strong and aggressive. I have always had a lot of respect for your tenacity in the sport.
As for the crash... wow, that was very intense to see. I still have the image of you free falling vividly in my mind. Seeing your shoes simultaneously blow off was crazy. But seeing you get up and walk out of there was amazing. You really showed how tough you are and there was a lot of respect world wide from various people seeing that.
I know you've been super busy too, recovering but also with all the media that has generated from seeing you fall like that and get up... Larry King Live and all the other TV stuff you've been doing.
Anyway, so here are the questions...
Niki: How do you feel after falling 45-feet to flat?
Jake: A little sore I have a fractured wrist and a fractured vertebrate.
Niki: Do you remember the accident?
Jake: Yeah I remember the whole thing it was crazy because I had so much time to think about how to take the impact with my body.
Niki: What are your injuries?
Jake: Whiplash to my neck and back , fractured wrist and vertebrate , I had a bruised liver and a contusion to my lung.
Niki: What went wrong?
Jake: After the 720 I tried to carve across to the right to give myself more quarter pipe to work with but I was a little late on my actions and was still carving up the wall of the quarter that with the g force force me to my board then when I stood up I got sling shot to the flat.
Niki:Did the accident scare you?
Jake: When I was in the air I was a bit scared knowing the fall was going to be very hard but now its not so bad.
Niki: Do you feel like you will be back at it right away, or will it be a while?
Jake: The doctor told me I will be 6 weeks to heal and then maybe a few more weeks to get strong and get back some confidence so maybe 2 months I guess."
