Forgive the use of English please, but I'm wondering about the attitude of the Park authorities towards mtb-ing. This site - www.7stanes.gov.uk might interest you and shows what lots of volunteers and lots of pressure can make government agencies do. It's fantastic to ride!

Anyway, I was really asking whether mtb-ing is actually banned anywhere in Bulgaria?

Bulgarian government is totally unaware of MTB as a public sport or at least as recreational activity. Hence, there are (still) no laws, nor policies about mtb'ing. And as I see things, there won't be such soon... but even if there were, I'm not sure if they would be able to enforce them at all.

on the question, AFAIK riding in private areas is forbidden in the US and Canada. But I've yet to hear about mtb being totally banned somewhere. That's something I really don't want to happen, especially here!!!

As far as I am informed and from my own experience there are no official regulations which prohibit or limit cycling in BG even in National Parks or Preserved areas. Along with this authorities do not stimulate it too.
The example you posted is something that we as a community can and should learn from. If we want bike facilities, officially recognized bike routes and regulations, etc. we should act towards this, not just wait for someone to do it on our behalf.

Hi Sid,
I totally agree with all previous posts. I think, that only some jackasses would forbid mtb-ing and this could only happen in private properities. However if my ideot neighbour was the president he would forbid all good sport activitys. Eventhough an assassination is not so expensive:angfire::flamethr::fire::uzi::dark::combust:

P.S. By the way, I think that we should not post anything in BG. After all we should respect Sid!

I think there was some kind of rule about riding on the sidewalks - you're not allowed to do that. But as other users said - nobody really cares.

hahaha:D Where did you see this sign? Hardly possible to stand in front of a national park's entrance or next to a sidewalk..
