Bansko Pump Park

Being constructed as we speak. Designed by Drag for the people of Bansko. Hopefully another step forward towards our own MTB Park......

Located in the Town's public Park behind the old lake. Volunteers from the community have been working hard to help construct the Park and we hope it will be finished for next weekend. Help and volunteers are always appreciated......

This is a small video but the quality is not very good as with my old mobile phone.....



We hope the park will be ready in 2weeks though people are able to use it now. We will have an opening weekend with riders from Drag giving displays. I have also made contact with Simeon from Ram who will send a team so we can have a small friendly competition and we also should be having "The Big Air" too.

Will keep everyone updated with news of the official opening when it has been decided.

We are pretty much finished with all the building work, the signs and fence will be here soon. I think we should have the whole lot finished by Monday.

For the official opening it will have to be later in the season as Drago is off overseas on work and Martin ( who has been on site every day managing the lads) is off on holiday next week. We could do an opening without them but considering how much time, effort and money Drag have put in I think it would be a little harsh to go ahead without them!

When we know final details dates and program for the opening I will publish it on here 2 or 3 weeks in Advance. The park is available to ride now though....

This is so cool! Since the first bike park opened last summer in Sofia (in Borisova Garden), 3 more have been constructed - in Burgas, Plovdiv and now in Bansko.

I hope to be able to try them some day soon!

Was made by James Hughes(road to nowhere) on another forum and I copied it here to give information for people. I never said i had built the park. The park has been built by drag and voluteers from the locals youths. Giving information to people and letting them know in my opinion is good. MTB in Bulgaria is becoming bigger than ever and it is good to keep everyone in the picture.

If I have done wrong in letting people know about whats happening here then I apologise. I am very enthusiastic about MTB and whats happening here and for that i like to share any info we can get to everyone. Sorry James I will let you carry on with updating people etc etc. Perhaps no-one will then ever know whats going on.......

I give information James and you were aware that we were promoting it for you and for Drag and as previously stated we were under the assumption we were all a team trying to promote Bansko. Infact, you wanted our help in building and designing and also we have offered but since teaming up with Drag you throw people who have supported you constantly over the last 3years to one side and said you do not need help on the building of the park there are enough volunteers now. We also said if you need us don't hesitate to contact us we do not mind putting labour in to help. Same with the road to nowhere we were there not just sponsoring but helped with the marking of the course, collecting sports drinks from other sponsors in Sofia, promoting on the forums, taking leaflets and posters all over BG(Sofia, Sopot, Borovets) We have been down with the guys constantly talking and discussing things and they were very happy to give information to put on the forum as were you when I first told you. Also when Simeon from Ram contacted us about the park and I told you about this and the fact he would be willing to send a team also for the opening you were aware and thought as the guys in park did that this would be great. I guess now you realise that this could be potentially bigger than you thought you want to claim the glory all for yourself and rightly to you do it all . Perhaps if you offered information then you could have your glory and this would put you another step closer to be Mayor of Bansko.

I am sorry for trying to promote Bansko and your events and parks that you build but I thought we were a team and all in our own way promoting together and helping each other. I will still offer information to riders and send pictures of anything going on in Bansko that I think they will be interested in. Information is King and this is the best way for the future of anything we do in our lives. Share information and communicate.


Please let this be an end to bickering on a public forum as it is child'ish and i do not want to get removed as a member of the forum as I am interested in what is happening with the MTB scene all over Bg and like to see what riders are up to that we have met and are still looking forward to meeting and riding with.

I would like to apologise to James, drag and any volunteers that have been involved in the building of the Pump Park. If anyone had been misled into thinking that I had built it again I apologise and there was never any intention to mislead people.

The park was designed and built by Drag and the volunteers and james has been the the force behind the project as he is with the Road To Nowhere. My intention was to give people information about the park and promote it to riders. Many people contacted me after the road to nowhere event at the end of July asking for info on a bike park they had been told about and I was just giving information.

Again many apologies to all involved and I wish every success for the park to be a massive hit for every rider who comes to visit and ride this awesome park.

Thanks for the photos and for taking the time to keep us informed. I am personally very happy that there is such a park in Bansko regardless of who physically built it. I think the promoting and establishing contacts between people is equally as important for the successful launch of a project such as this. I would love to see the park but I most probably won't have the chance for a long time so please do continue to post photos.

Well done to all of you who put so much effort into this facility, and to Drag for coming up with the finance! And best of luck for the opening!
